When you first open a photography business, you photographing a lot of your friends for free. In fact, you’re pretty desperate to get just about anybody in front of your camera. It’s new and exciting, and the best part is, you are getting to hang out with your friends while you do it! Then, when you’ve got a good base under you and have been posting for a while, friends start paying you. And then, THEN you decide to take a big leap. You decide to photograph weddings and post your work on a website!!! A monstrous task on its own that is downright frightening the first dozen times, and only mildly intimidating from there on out! But the problem is, as your business grows, people you don’t know start hiring you and very quickly, as the weddings pile up and your time shrinks, you simply can’t keep track of what everyone is doing! Honestly, this fact makes me very sad at times! After all, I got into photography not to run a business but to build relationships with beautiful people who wanted to cherish the moments that make their lives great.

All that to say, when I started talking with Caitlin and Elliot about doing an anniversary session for them, I was ecstatic. What a great idea!!! Here was a chance to hang out once again with one of my couples. A team that I watched go from two people to one. And I am happy to say that the experience was even better than I imagined it might be. We had to run through my posing system again (a year does wonders to memory), but these two were just as fun to work with as the first time.

Then, when it was all said and done, we hung out in their apartment for a couple hours, eating pistachios and catching up on life. An afternoon well spent!

They even brought out the Puppers!
