Of all the “how they met” stories I’ve ever heard, Becca and Brendan’s is by far the most uniqute. By fate’s decree, they met for the first time at a New Year’s Party in Richmond. Ironically, both of them were dragged along by friends and didn’t want to be there. All the same, they enjoyed each other’s company and went separate ways. But alas, their journey was far from complete. A few days later, both found the other on Tender and after some initial confusion for how they knew each other (Brendan didn’t remember Becca at all and Becca thought Brendan had a cousin named Kevin), they inevitably ended up at a coffee a month and a half later to begin this wonderful adventure.
Of course, as all great things do, their love for each other began to grow. Brendan had found a woman he could love forever, and after some phenominal planning, he was ready to make this woman his best friend for life. He took Becca on a “winery tour,” and after a wonderful afternoon, he led her to an unmowed field where a picture of them rested upon a wine bottle near the middle. He went to one knee, and there she agreed to become Mrs. Crowley forever.
As for the wedding day itself, I don’t think I will ever forget it. Khimaira Farm is absolutely one of the most gorgeous venues I have seen to date with its swooping mountain ranges and open fields. It is simply serene. Further, it is the only venue I’ve ever worked at where a herd of very civil goats wandered up to us during sunset portrait time (On that note, thank you once again to my incredible assistant Ashley and the wedding planner Alyssa for keeping the herd distracted). A first I shall eternally remember.
In Brendan’s words, “We’re like Chicago-style pizza. Everyone sees what’s on top: how we act in public. Friends and family say we are a great couple. But what they don’t always see is everything underneath. They see the top good lookin cheese, but you have to get down to the normal life raising two cats. The three years of hard work. But we do see it all, and to us it’s the whole pizza.” Becca and Brendan. You are a wonderfully dynamic couple that are going to have such a wonderful life together. I love you both and I look forward to talking to you both again soon. Enjoy marriage my friends!
